2008 - 2009 Dinner Auction Update

Tuesday, March 10, 2009 8:53:27 PM

Drum roll please.......Final Dinner Auction numbers are in and the Dinner Auction committee is proud to announce that we had a final, grand, net total income of $100,000!!!! Without the dedication and hard work of everyone involved this would not have been possible. The importance of the income the school receives from the Dinner Auction can not be understated - it helps fund our tuition, helps us to pay our teachers, and keeps our doors open for our children to receive the best Catholic education in the Nampa area. Many thanks to our Dinner Auction chairs for their commitment and hundreds of hours put toward this great cause. Anyone wanting to get more involved for next years’ auction please let Steph know - these events don't just happen – it takes a village to achieve this kind of success.

What do I still need to do...?

Monday, December 15, 2008 9:26:32 PM

You may be asking yourself…
What do I still need to do to fulfill my Dinner Auction requirements?

The Dinner Auction is the school’s largest fundraiser, bringing in 42% of our total fundraising income. To make it a success, each family has committed to:

  • Work 4 hours to support the Dinner Auction – the sign up list is in the school office.
Please stop in and talk with Stephanie about what volunteer opportunities are still available. If you have questions about committee specifics, please talk to the Committee Chairperson.

  • Purchase or sell $25 worth of raffle tickets. Tickets are available through the school office or after masses on the weekends. You will also be able to purchase tickets during the dinner auction if you are attending. If you are not attending the dinner auction, you must have purchased your tickets before January 30th at 3 p.m. You will be billed $25 if you do not make your purchase before Jan 30th; so, get in on the fun. Choose the raffle you’d LOVE to win!! Remember you can sell tickets to family, friends, or co-workers – extra tickets can be picked up in the school office.

Attention All Dinner Auction Volunteers!!

Monday, December 15, 2008 9:24:03 PM

Mark your calendars for Wednesday Jan. 28th at 6:30 p.m. as there will be a mandatory meeting at the school for volunteers.

If you are signed up to work the day of the auction, you must attend this meeting.

In order for this auction to be a success, we need many parent volunteers the day and night of the auction. All the volunteer jobs are listed in the school office. You will need to sign up for a “job” before January 30th at 3:00 p.m. Unfortunately, you will not be able to show up the day of the auction to offer your assistance. All jobs will be filled prior to Auction DAY. After reviewing the volunteer list in the school office and determining which committee you want to help, please contact the Committee chairperson. You can obtain the chairperson name and phone number in the office.

If you have any questions, please call Dianne Loeffen at 465-4462.

A Special Thank You!

The Dinner Auction Chairs would like to give special recognition to Procurement Team members: Jan Gildersleeve, John Niland & Don Phelps! Together, these three men brought in almost 100 items from local businesses & individuals for the 2009 Dinner Auction. Some of these items are going to be part of the LIVE auction & many others are stand-alone items or items made into great theme baskets for the silent auction.

These men were asked to help our Dinner Auction team with procuring items back in August & they have gone above & beyond to secure these items over the last several months. All the school parents & SPS students owe these gentlemen a great deal of gratitude. So, when you see these wonderful three around the church or school, please extend a heartfelt "thank you". Our school could not operate without hardworking folks like these. So, again, St. Paul's School says "THANK YOU JAN, JOHN AND DON!" We look forward to seeing you at the auction - you wouldn't want to miss seeing the direct result of your handiwork!!

Procurement Items

Wednesday, November 26, 2008 7:32:53 PM

Thank you to the families who turned in procurement forms and items for the upcoming dinner auction. Unfortunately we have many procurement forms without the actual item(s). Some procurement forms that were submitted had a lot of detail and mentioned that the item would be delivered closer to the auction date. These are fine as we can use the description from the procurement form when writing up the program description. However, some folks turned in a procurement form without the item and didn't give much of a description at all. The dinner auction committee is unable to call parents/donors for item descriptions and delivery dates, so PLEASE turn in your items as soon as possible. The dinner auction committee is in the final stage of putting together packages and writing up the auction program and we really need these items turned in. If your item is perishable and won't be turned in until the week of the auction , please call Kristie at 468-8741 and give her your item details so your item is described accurely in the program
